A model process essay

Throughout the history of human civilization, meals of flatbreads or rounds of dough with various toppings were common and used consistently. People of ancient Greece, Persia, and Rome used this kind of sustenance for centuries; until a meal that we call today pizza found its home in the Naples area in Italy. During the period of Middle Ages, cooks from Italy managed to improve the process of pizza creation; they added new ingredients and toppings with the goal to make  the best dish possible. After the arrival of tomato from the New World, the most important ingredient was present and pizza started slowly to spread across the world. Here is an official definition for pizza: “A pizza is a round, open pie made with yeast dough and topped with tomato sauce, cheese, and a variety of other ingredients as toppings”. In order to make pizza, there are several steps that you must consider.

The first and the most important step in making a pizza is making the dough by mixing the flour with water or some other liquid (for example milk) and yeast. After the ingredients are perfectly mixed together, the dough must be placed in a bowl that is coated with small amounts of olive oil and be left to grow (yeast extract oxygen from the flour, and produce carbon dioxide which causes the flour to rise). After around one hour of being in a warm environment, the dough will doubled in its size (if you don’t have access to the warm environment, heat up your oven to 150 degrees, let it cool until it’s just a little warm and place the dough inside it.

The second step is preparing the dough for a pizza. While the dough is growing, you can prepare the topping ingredients, and preheat the oven to 450°F for at least thirty minutes to an hour. When the dough is ready, put it on the surface that is slightly floured. With your hands stretch the dough into an oval shape. The most common size for a pizza is 10 to 12 inches.

The third step is applying the sauce and the toppings. With the dough prepared, now you can start adding the sauce and the toppings. Over the centuries, many kinds of tomato sauce became popular among pizza eaters. After applying the sauce, you can add cheese and any other toppings that you want. The wide variety of these toppings can create countless types of pizzas – from low calorie diet ones, spicy, vegetarian, sweet, to the real nutritious ones with thousands of calories.

The fourth step is baking the pizza. After you are finished with the toppings, the pizza is ready for baking. The usual amount of time for baking a pizza in a pre-heated oven lasts between 10 to 15 minutes. You will know that the pizza is ready when the crust is brown and the cheese is golden.

In conclusion, making a pizza may seem difficult; but if you know the exact steps for doing it, it will become a piece of cake. Making a pizza has four steps including  making the dough, preparing the dough, applying the sauce and the toppings, and baking it in the oven. Now that you know the steps of making a pizza, why don’t you try it for the first time? It may seem hard and time consuming, but it is better to make it yourself if you want to be sure that the food you are using is healthy enough.

Exercises

A. Looking back, we can say for certain that saving money is possible for the average citizen. However, there are certain ways you have to go about it: noting down your spending, making a budget, creating a plan for saving money, setting a savings goal for particular items, and figuring out your priorities.

B. Finally, prioritizing the way you spend and save money is a key element. According to The Balance, “Each individual will have slightly different priorities, but no matter what those priorities are retirement and your emergency fund will come first. After that, you can focus on your other goals and building wealth. Once you determine your priorities, you can create a chart or excel sheet that lets you track your progress on your goals” (Caldwell, Miriam). So, setting priorities is a nuance you should take into account while creating your spending and saving plans.

C. Another important factor in saving money is creating a budget. This is usually done after reviewing all your transactions and what you need to use your money for in order to survive. As stated by America Saves, “Create a budget that you can stick to. Look at places you can cut back in order to pay down high-interest debt and save. Each week, check your finances to make sure you are staying within your budget” (Bryan, Katie). The most essential factor in creating a budget is knowing you can keep to it through the bumps on the road of your finances.

D. The first step people might take is recording their spending. It is a practical decision that allows for transparency and calculation. According to Better Money Habits, “Keep track of all your expenses—that means every coffee, household item and cash tip. Once you have your data, organize the numbers by categories, such as gas, groceries and mortgage, and total each amount. Consider using your credit card or bank statements to help you with this” (“Saving Money Tips – 8 Simple Ways to Save Money”). It might seem painstaking, but this process will help you to note how payments and purchases affect your balance, and savings ultimately.

E. A useful tip in addition to the previously mentioned points is that you can save money with a certain item or items in mind. Sometimes focusing on a certain object of desire can work better for people in terms of saving money. According to Better Money Habits, “One of the best ways to save money is to set a goal. Start by thinking of what you might want to save for—perhaps you’re getting married, planning a vacation or saving for retirement. Then figure out how much money you’ll need and how long it might take you to save it” (“Saving Money Tips – 8 Simple Ways to Save Money”). Whether short-term or long-term, it is good to have a goal in mind while saving money.

F. As an extension of your budget, you can create a plan for your spending. You can give exact percentages and figures. According to Better Money Habits, “Try to save 10 to 15 percent of your income. If your expenses are so high that you can’t save that much, it might be time to cut back. To do so, identify nonessentials that you can spend less on, such as entertainment and dining out, and find ways to save on your fixed monthly expenses” (“Saving Money Tips – 8 Simple Ways to Save Money”). It might be painful to slash out certain areas of your life you enjoy spending money on, but in order to save money, you have to sacrifice some of your desires in order to achieve your goals.

G. Saving money is a manageable thing for most people. The key, though, is understanding how to go about it in a proper way. It takes some motivation, organization, and determination. Sometimes it seems like a mystery, though, as it appears money slips out of the hands of some people. That is why “How to save money” is one of the most common questions on the internet. This essay will deal with five ways to save money in a practical way: record your spending, create a budget, make a plan for saving money, have a savings goal for certain items, and decide on your priorities. There are more methods to consider, but these are a good start for those who are lost in the forest of saving money.
